A pair of sculptural genderless shoes created as a manifesto against rising anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment felt globally. Crafted to embody experiences of gender and queerness lived daily by the queer community. Designed in collaboration with artist Luca Bosani, the shoes symbolise resistance through mutation and vulnerability for queer survival.

An exploration of personal expression and identity through experiences of alienation in modern cities. Built around shared feelings of social imprisonment caused by contemporary homogenisation and de-humanisation of lived realities in a capitalistic environment. Developed looks to reflect themes of reappropriation and negotiation of self-expression under oppressive power structures.

Taking inspiration from personal experiences of self-reflection through one’s own eyes as well as external perceptions, the story behind this shoot uncovers feelings of judgement, frustration, and performativity. Giving a voice to common sentiments, the formation of individuality within a complex societal environment manifests without reprisal.
